How Bush Kindy Engages Community

Community is the foundation of our work. We host Bush Kindy sessions where people naturally gather, ensuring they are place-based, accessible and familiar. Local neighbours have the opportunity to build strong relationships through shared interests. With these connections, families develop deeper bonds with their community and the natural environment.

Place-Based Gatherings

The benefits of community gatherings in local neighbourhoods:

  • Increase sense of belonging
  • Reduces risk of isolation and loneliness
  • Ensures families can access per-to-peer support and communication
  • Connection with additional local services

Many of our programs receive government or private funding to increase accessibility for families who may face barriers to quality play-based programs. This supports both families who home school and those transitioning to kindergarten or school.
