Community Connections & Stories

Our Bush Kindy programs are built on people. Our growth across South-East Queensland is rooted in the strength of community: families who show up rain or shine, partners who believe in connection through play, and children who remind us daily why it matters.

Growing Together: Our Story

What began as a single playgroup at Daisy Hill has blossomed into a network of free, inclusive Bush Kindy programs spanning Logan, Ipswich and beyond.

In 2024 alone, we delivered 138 sessions across 16 green spaces — all free and accessible to families of all ages and abilities. These programs aren’t just about play; they’re about connection, wellbeing, and building stronger communities through consistent, culturally respectful, nature-based learning.

This growth was made possible by powerful community partnerships, the support of local Elders, and a shared belief that nature play should be for everyone.

Who Supports This Work?

We’re proud to partner with local councils, not-for-profits, educational organisations, and community champions who support our mission in meaningful ways. From venue access and funding to co-designed programming and event support, these partnerships make a real impact.

Many of our supporters go beyond financial contributions, offering time, expertise, and heartfelt belief in what we do. Whether it’s an Elder guiding our sessions, a local business donating materials, or a council championing public access to nature play, each partnership helps us grow a movement rooted in respect, equity and connection.

Want to Help?

We welcome community involvement in many meaningful ways!

Offer a Mini Workshop: Share your knowledge — bees, wildlife, cultural knowledge, bush regeneration and more.

Donate Items: Stainless steel kitchenware, craft materials, or loose parts are always appreciated and would be put to use in our free community programs.

Student Placements: We welcome interest from TAFE and university students.

Volunteer: We're working on funding and insurance options for volunteers. Let us know if you'd like to be contacted when positions open up.

The Heart of It All

The impact of our programs is only possible because of the trust and enthusiasm of our communities. Every muddy moment, shared story, and new connection shapes who we are.

None of this would be possible without the incredible parents and carers who bring our sessions to life. Their commitment — from showing up rain or shine, to engaging with our social media, to welcoming new families with open arms — is what transforms our programs into something truly special. Whether it’s helping set up, sharing morning tea, or offering a kind word to a fellow parent, their everyday actions are what make this community thrive.

Thank you to every family, every partner, and every little explorer who has helped us grow. Together, we’re building a future where nature play is truly for everyone.
